Today, December 5, 2019, was a banner day for Racial Profiling reports, by locals, in San Diego. I found nothing new in any of them. Not even the cowardice. I take comfort in the fact that all of my yelping, though in vain, was not without factual basis. Two groups; one commissioned by the ACLU and another of unknown authority or support, concluded that being Black or Hispanic is bad business, if you encounter the cops. Only very bright people would have come to such conclusions. Great minds all. The usual sycophants were well quoted; mendicants and sycophants all repeating the old tired phrases. Give them a donation. That will shut them up. In God we trust. All others must bring data...Bloomberg. What was troubling was the abject failure to comment on the quality of the data; it has no quality. So what?

Update:   After reviewing the year-long   data   on race released by SDPD, there are major differences between what the   data   showed at 8 months versus at the end of 12 months. We don’t know why the numbers are so different (e.g. the number of stops per month fell significantly between January and December), but this underlines the need for a thorough, independent analysis of the   data   that can be communicated to the public. Data Availability, Data Integrity and Other Fictions

    In the within, I wrote about the mayhem or “rodgering” caused by “Consensual Encounters Resulting in a Search” when searches were not conducted , and other forms of fiction that compose much of California Department of Justice-provided Stop Data. Outside of this, I have importuned the CA-DOJ about its misrepresentations in claiming to have complied with the legal requirements contained in Article 6. Audits and Validation, § 999.229 of AB953. Included in my rants were regular references to the admonitions of Chief Medrano, a current employee of the CA-DOJ; the clearest that I have heard on the matter of Data Integrity, Auditing and Validation.   Early this year, or late last year, I found occasion to adjure the CA-DOJ on the matter again.
