Today, as expected, I received a return call from Officer Montano of the CHP. A week ago, Wednesday, Montano called, but in that call the calling line identifiers were not all there; not presented. Instead,  we had an "Unavailable" name with a phone number. I did not answer. Today, perhaps in response to communications that I sent to the Attorney General and to the California Department of Justice, the name identifier was "State of CA." I answered the phone. Attorneys General indeed, because Bacerra's predecessor, the half-Jamaican and full U.S. Senator embraced ignorance with equal fervour. Just now, I was compelled to write as follows: Mr. Attorney General; Yesterday, with serendipity or some others marvelous form of divine coincidence, you issued a propaganda piece that was entitled: California Racial and Identity Profiling Advisory Board Releases Video Highlighting Data Integrity. In that email-published piece, published about 30 days after the meeting where the matters were discussed, but one day after my small flood of communications on these matters, you sought to assure the public (“the communities they are sworn to protect”) of the good faith of the California Department of Justice. Perhaps you sought to set history aside. Whatever it was that you sought to accomplish, your communication was a disgrace and should be withdrawn (if wishes were horses this beggar would ride.) POST is an agency within the California Department of Justice. The acronym, POST, is an abbreviation for the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. It may be all of of that, but it is more than that, for it is a pillar in the perpetuation of prejudice. It is also, by law, the critical vehicle through which changes to police training, adopted or adapted from lessons learned, from data-collection, will be implemented. They have a cute phrase to describe it. They will be "informed by data" or something that sounds like that (even as they preside over or ignore the manufacture of false data.) But even now, and for 12-20 years, POST has been an instructor and purveyor of prejudice; it is a propagandist. It must be brought to heel. How? I have no answer but shall try to find one. Friends and Crocodiles No, this has nothing to do with the Damian Lewis movie —that I own but have never watched (I fell asleep and either did not try again or fell asleep again.) Par! This is about Crocodiles that are now being found in Kingston Harbour and its environs and the fear that their presence evokes, even from 3,000 miles distant. Growing up in Bournemouth Gardens makes me an expert on everything; ask my wife. However, this past summer Mr. Know-It-All was found wanting. This is because a dread story appeared, in the Jamaica Gleaner, I think, about a father who went fishing for fish and was himself fished for; taken by a Crocodile, in Portmore. Portmore may not be in Kingston Harbour, but I am willing to argue with those who say that it is not. It looks like it is, and now I know they have lots of crocodiles there, and that they have always been there, in its rivulets and lagoons. California’s Racial and Identity Profiling Advisory Board Releases First Annual Report On January 1, 2018 the Attorney General’s Office released the First Annual Report ; it left much to be desired. I will not take this opportunity to be comprehensive in criticism, instead I will be circumspect by addressing critical issues. How to Determine the “Denominator” [1] . This section of the report is lifted from a boiler-plate that was crafted by beguilers; the section is tripe, for it addresses stops alone (or should), even as it makes cursory mention of other post-stop actions.
